  • Freshman Voice Studio (FVS)

All freshman voice majors (BA, BM, BME, Music Therapy) participate in small group voice study under the direction of Professor Cynthia Vaughn. FVS lessons are twice a week for one hour, in addition to the required weekly voice studio class. Throughout the first year, freshman voice majors perform regularly for each other and work in master classes with the entire voice faculty team. Students may also schedule individual mini-lessons with voice faculty members. FVS has proven a highly successful way for first year voice majors to transition from high school to college voice study in a supportive, challenging environment. FVS singers perform a showcase recital at the end of the Spring semester and are assigned to individual teachers beginning their sophomore year of study.
