Scholarships/Financial Aid

Admission into all programs requires acceptance by the university and acceptance by the department.

Freshmen and transfer students must audition for the department prior to admission. If an audition in person is not possible, a taped performance may be allowed for provisional admission.
All students must pass a piano proficiency exam. While most instruction for the proficiency exam can be acquired in courses at Colorado State, you are encouraged to pursue piano instruction prior to admission.
To prepare students for freshman theory courses, the department offers a summer theory workshop. If you are interested in this workshop, contact the department for specific time and date.

Any University student may audition to receive a Creative and Performing Arts scholarship.

Scholarships are renewable for up to four years and range from $250 to $1,500, depending on student ability and involvement. These scholarships may be supplemented by additional awards based on outstanding performance ability with total funding reaching up to $3,500 for the year.
